Swimming

We train twice a week at Richmond Swimming Pool and when the weather improves and the temperatures rise we do our Open Water training at Ellerton Water, Scorton, (although our adults were still going strong in the lake in December this year!).

Cycling

Adults meet for informal social rides on most Sunday mornings. For juniors we use the facilities at Brompton Community sports hall in the summer, with occasional trips to the dedicated cycle circuit at Prissick in Middlesbrough.

We also encourage our members to compete in the following:- The League International (TLI) Series at Croft circuit (May-July) and also the Richmond CC 10 mile TT on Thursday nights in the summer. Our members are also welcome to attend the Richmond CC Sunday Club rides when on.

The club is affiliated to the Road Time Trial Championship and we encourage participation at their events. In winter/extreme weather (it is Yorkshire!) cycle training is indoors with club spinning classes or Turbo sessions.

Running

Running sessions are mixed with the weekly Saturday biking sessions in summer. Members can also join Richmond & Zetland Harriers, our local athletics club. Our swim training is timed to complement the Harriers’ training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We also actively promote and encourage participation in all the local parkruns (when not at our sessions), every Saturday at 09:00 and Junior parkrun at Richmond Station at 09.00 on Sundays. Our closest 5km parkruns are Darlington, Northallerton and Fountains Abbey, keep an eye out for us.

Strength & Conditioning

During the winter months, we are able to keep our fitness up with indoor training sessions on Saturday mornings at Brompton Community sports hall. These sessions are great fun, and suitable for everyone aged 8 and upwards.
